Group had its worst results because the pandemic within the fourth quarter, the results of weakness in investment banking and asset management, plus a large loss within the unit that features its consumer banking business.

The investment bank earned $3.32 a share within the fourth quarter, down 69% from $10.81 a share within the fourth quarter of 2021, while the consensus forecast amongst analysts was for $5.56 a share.
