DWF Labs, a Web3 investment and market-making firm, is currently embroiled in a scandal following serious allegations made by a user on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday. 

DWF Labs Partner Accused Of Spiking Drink 

The person, referred to as “Hananotsorry,” claims that a partner at DFW Labs drugged her during a gathering in Hong Kong on October 24. In her account, Hana detailed the events resulting in the alleged incident. She stated: 

On the evening of October twenty fourth, I used to be drugged by a partner at @DWFLabs at a bar in HK. I actually have reported this to the local police and have collected video evidence of him spiking my drink. 

Although Hana didn’t disclose the partner’s name, she recounted how the person had previously approached her with job offers related to a project he claimed would suit her background.

As a newcomer to the cryptocurrency space, Hana disclosed that she was desperate to learn and accepted his invitation to satisfy. Nonetheless, she described a concerning experience after briefly stepping away to make use of the restroom. 

Upon her return, Hana explains that she took a “few sips” of her drink before the partner stepped outside to make a call. A waitress then alerted her that her drink had been tampered with. She wrote:

I used to be shocked and couldn’t imagine someone like him could do something so horrible. As I attempted to depart, I felt extremely dizzy. He kept insisting, ‘Include me, I actually have a set on the Murray, and I can provide you with more alpha. I can allow you to get to places.’

Hana expressed concern that this behavior indicated a “calculated setup,” suggesting there could also be other victims. After the incident, she reported it to the local police and obtained CCTV footage from the venue, which allegedly showed the partner spiking her drink multiple times.

Partner Dismissed Amid Serious Claims

In light of those allegations, DWF Labs released a statement acknowledging the intense nature of the claims. The firm stated: 

We’re aware of the recent and deeply concerning allegations involving one among our partners, who has been accused of inappropriate and unacceptable behavior. While the matter is under investigation, DWF Labs has decided to dismiss the said partner from management and operational roles effective immediately.

DWF Labs also reiterated its adherence to transparency and the “highest ethical standards,” stating that they don’t condone actions that go against the firm’s core values of integrity, respect, and accountability. They pledged to observe the situation closely and support those affected by such incidents.

Because the investigation unfolds, it stays unclear whether Hana or DWF Labs will provide further details regarding the identity of the accused partner. 

Local police in Hong Kong are also expected to issue statements because the situation develops. Hana concluded her message with a note of solidarity for others who can have faced similar experiences, encouraging them to succeed in out for support.
